Do you have too many artworks and collectibles in your house and wanting to downsize? Or perhaps you desire a new look in some part of your home? The Dauphin and District Allied Arts Council (DDAAC) may have a solution.
It can be hard letting go of treasured pieces of art, moving them from one part of the house to another – hand-crafted items bought while travelling, or gifted to you, marking a special time in your life. What if these cherished pieces went to a good home that will love it as much as you do?
On March 7, 2020 DDAAC will be hosting Art Adopt 2020, giving folks in our community the opportunity to purchase beloved artwork at budget friendly prices. We think this will serve several purposes. Those wanting to downsize will know their favored art is going to a good home. New art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to begin their collection of some quality pieces. The DDAAC will raise some much-needed funds and we will all enjoy another evening out at this lively event.
Art Adopt 2020 will be held in the WAC auditorium, where we will offer your donation for sale, either by silent auction, raffle or with set prices. The evening will include live music, a bar and snacks. We are looking forward to you joining us for this fun event whether you have decided to downsize, acquire or not. Meantime we are calling on all donors to start dropping off pieces for this event.
What types of art are we interested in? Visual art, original hand crafted pottery, stained glass, fabric art, sculptures and so on. Consider us if you are interested in cutting back on the art in your home and would like to donate it to DDAAC. The pieces must be in good condition, needing little or no repairs.
Please fill in the attached form, providing us with information or history on the work being donated, as current and beginning collectors may be interested in knowing the provenance of their newly acquired artwork. Call Jan Jenkins 204-638-5022 if you need help with the form. We can pick up, if necessary, but prefer you drop it off at WAC any weekday afternoon.
Please contact Lori Bicklmeier at 204-647-0019, Kathy Bellemare at 204-647-7755 or Michelle Nyquist at 204-647-0977 and we will help find your art a good home.
Thank you in advance,
The DDAAC Fundraising Committee
