YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE ~ DONATIONS, CONTRIBUTIONS AND GIFTING

The Dauphin and District Allied Arts Centre Inc. (“DDAAC”) is a registered charitable organization, relying on funding
from numerous sources for building upkeep and arts-related programs.  There are many future plans, with sourcing of funds always a constant challenge.

Currently the DDAAC is raising funds to add air conditioning to the auditorium, a project more complex than it sounds.  The building is heated by steam with no ducts to connect to for circulating cooled air.  This coupled with our heritage building status has raised the project cost to around $140,000.  We have completed electrical, structural and cooling system specification reports for use when seeking tenders to supply/install a comprehensive and effective system.

The DDAAC has a growing list of projects requiring funding.  This includes finishing the front entrance revitalization started in 2010, exterior flood lighting installations and new exterior wall sconces to complement the recently erected wrought iron gazebo seating area, and completion of landscaping. We need to enlarge and refurbish the main level washrooms to make them wheelchair accessible, renovate the upper kitchen, upgrade our Old Fire Hall area, and complete other repairs and improvements, including those requiredfor a spectator activities license.  Preserving and framing the Watson Art Collection and developing additional arts-related programs are also key.

    Direct Donations

Direct donations enable us to immediately use the full amount of your gift towards heritage building and arts-related projects and programs at the Watson Art Centre.  You have the opportunity to direct your contribution towards a specific project or program, or you can authorize the DDAAC to use your gift where the DDAAC feels it is most urgently needed.

    Our Arts Legacy Fund

In September 2002 the Board of Directors of the Dauphin and District Allied Arts Council also passed a motion to create an Arts Legacy Fund.  This Arts Legacy Fund is administered by the Dauphin and District Community Foundation (the “Foundation”) as Trustee. Contributions to this Fund are invested by the Foundation in a safe manner so as to preserve the original capital and generate income each year.  This income is then paid out to The Dauphin and District Allied Arts Council, ensuring the endowment fund will support, promote and enhance the Arts and the Watson Arts Centre building for many years to come.  Additional information about the Dauphin & District Community Foundation can be found at www.dauphincommunityfoundation.ca
